60 Lakh+ Tickets Sold, National Cinema Day Was A Big hit?

India Loves Cinema. And that is pretty clear, given the shear dedication of the Indian audience when it came to the celebration of National Cinema Day. In the data released by the Multiplex Association of India, a staggering 6 million people chose to show up at movie theaters on September 20. Over 4000 screens and millions of people, this year’s Cinema Day was a blockbuster in itself.

Half of the buzz can be credited to the movies that were being screened. Of course, without them, what would the audience even do? The movies that were the main crowd-pullers were Stree-2, The Buckingham Murders, Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam, Yudhra, and the newly released blockbuster, Tumbbad.

Apart from these, Transformers ONE also garnered a lot of attention. Given its appeal among children. But the regional cinema has certainly turned out to be the biggest winner. With multiple titles like Navra Maza Navsacha-2, Sucha Soorma, Ardaas Sharbat De Bhale Di, and Kishkindha Kandam, regional cinema certainly garnered a lot of attention despite the bigger titles in competition.

The buzz around Show Biz has seen a massive spike. It is noteworthy that Indian cinema caters to everyone. Everyone has something to look forward to. Whether it be mind-numbing Masala movies to relax after a long day or a pitch-perfect auteur piece of art to feed the intellectual inside, Cinema Day stands proof of this.
