Dharma Productions has unveiled the theatrical trailer for ‘Jigra’ and Alia Bhatt as a protective-cum-obsessive sister is up for anything to save her baby brother. Helmed by Vasan Bala, ‘Jigra’ is set for theatrical release on 11th October, 2024, clashing with Raaj Shaandilyaa’s family comedy drama ‘Vicky Vidya Ko Woh Wala Video’.
The trailer begins with a phone call that changes everything for Satya (Alia Bhatt). She learns about her brother Ankur’s (Vedang Raina) imprisonment and while she is devastated she is willing to take things to extreme and get him out of there safely.
Ankur is found guilty in court of law in a foreign land and is sentenced to death by electrocution in three months and that’s the amount of time Satya has to do anything and everything and that means even risking her own life in the process, which she is readily ready.
There are sequences in the trailer that are super intriguing like the one where Alia Bhatt is eating like a maniac while on board a flight, the way she talks in a hyper mode whenever it’s about her brother, or hunger to learn to fight or that epic fall from a tree after being hit by multiple branches along the way. Moreover, in the second half of the trailer she wreaks havoc and is not ready to stop until she gets her brother back. Nor the the foreign country nor its stringent laws are enough to stop the riot that she is.
Alia is fantastic in the character of a sensitive, protective sister whose life revolves around his little brother. The trailer is well cut with enthralling BGM, engaging screenplay and visually stunning editing.
Directed by Vasan Bala and written by Debashish Irengbam, ‘Jigra’ stars Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Aditya Nanda, Sobhita Dhulipala, Manoj Pahwa, and Rahul Ravindran. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra under their Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions banner, ‘Jigra’ will release in cinemas this Dussehra on 11th October, 2024.
