Open Netflix and you might see ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ popping up on the top of your home page, on the other hand, open social media and you find news of ‘Singham’s’ re-release.
Now these are two starkly opposite ways of promoting your upcoming release using previous hit instalments of the franchise. On one hand ‘Singham Again’ makers are going all out, loud and clear; ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ makers are doing it pretty discreetly and without much noise.
Why is it though? Is it because BB3 team is under confident of the end result or is it too careful after the backlash it received on the trailer. Is that the reason makers are treading steps carefully.
What if ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, the OG version was to re-released too like ‘Singham’? While the audience would no doubt love it, would it work for the latest instalment of the franchise? Unfortunately, it might not, because ever since the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ trailer came out fans have been reminiscing of the original and its cast and crew and the re-release might actually backfire.
And therefore ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has to turn on the incognito mode to promote the film now. The clash has made it difficult for the film because ‘Singham Again’ trailer with its massive stars cast has increased the hype to a level that’s difficult for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ to match now. For now the face off looks one sided, let’s see how the films fare at the box office.
