Bohurupi’s eagerly awaited trailer was recently released. Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, and Koushani Mukherjee star in the first action-chase thriller directed by the well-known filmmakers Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The movie is expected to revolutionize Bengali cinema.
The thrilling face-off between a crafty robber and an unyielding policeman opens the teaser, laying the groundwork for a furious chase. In his first police job, Abir plays Sumanta Ghoshal, who is assigned to look into a bold heist at Ajaygunj Co-operative Bank. Three crooks, including Shiboprosad, pull off the heist in under four minutes.
The plot then moves to the imaginary village of Chhyanchrapur, where crime is rife and we meet Jhimli (Koushani), the town pickpocket extraordinaire. The movie is based on a series of actual criminal incidents that occurred in Bengal between 1998 and 2005. With a story that centers on a string of bold bank robberies and the rising popularity of the elusive dacoit, the movie looks to be an engrossing blend of action, suspense, and social satire, setting the stage for an epic clash.
The soundtrack of the film was done by Anupam Roy, Bonnie Chakraborty, Arnab Dutta, Nani Chora Das Baul, Shilajit Majumdar, and Prabuddha Banerjee while Bonnie Chakraborty did the background score.
After Raktabeej, this movie is the director duo’s second project with Abir Chatterjee. Malay Laha handled the editing, and Indranath Marick took care of the cinematography. In honor of Durga Puja, it is set to open in theaters on October 8, 2024. The film is expected to hit it big amid the Durga Puja festivities and enhance the overall Bengali Cinema industry.
