While it is not everyday that the media and film industry gets hit with controversies, it is also not uncommon. Be it political undertones, release clashes, and whatnot, the film industry is no stranger to feuds and disagreements. This time around, and unsurprisingly, the predicament involves money!
Indian film director and actor Deepak Tijori, renowned for titles like ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander’, ‘Pehla Nasha’, ‘Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa’, ‘Khiladi’, has accused the producer of Manoj Bajpayee’s most recent film ‘Bhaiyya Ji’, Vikram Khakhar for allegedly duping him of a staggering sum of Rs. 17.50 Lakh in a recently filed FIR.
This comes following the duo’s initial meeting, back in 2019. Post this, the accused has offered to arrange for the shooting of Tijori’s upcoming venture ‘Tipppsy’ in the United Kingdom. However, despite being delayed continuously, the agreed upon terms were not delivered, even though the latter had paid for the shooting to be arranged.
A sum of Rs. 17.5 Lakh, including a base price of Rs. 15 Lakh as well as GST, was transferred to the accused back in 2020. Following which, he cited the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse for the delayed production process.
Despite all of this, ‘Tipppsy’ was released earlier this year and follows a group of girl friends who go to Goa for a bachelorette party and end up in trouble.
Stay tuned as we await more information about this case!
