Emergency Makers To Make Changes In Film; But Will That Do Any Good

Kangana Ranaut’s directorial venture is not going very smooth. After the Central Board of Film Certification denied to certify the film, it could not be released at its expected time. This delay came forth because of many controversies and many Sikh religious communities demanding to have it banned as it ‘hurt their sentiments’.

Now, the makers of the film have agreed to make some changes to it and make it ready for release. When the producers took their case to the Mumbai High Court, demanding a certification and release of the film, the revising committee suggested a few changes in the film and the lawyer for Zee Studios have stated that the makers have agreed upon those changes. A format for the implementation of the changes has been sent to CBFC and the board will respond to it on the 3rd of October.

But there is no certainty whether the movie will work out well at the box office. In spite of having so much controversy and negative publicity, the movie still has zero hype. There is no buzz around the movie and it seems to be lost in public memory. The theatrical release will probably be attended by a few fans of historical films, and how much historical accuracy they will find there is not certain. Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ too did not perform as it was expected to do, but still there was intrigue in people about the movie. ‘Emergency’ in spite of having actors like Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Kangana Ranaut, seems to be completely irrelevant even on social media, as Kangana’s last few films have been.
