National Award winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta is all set to venture into production with the launch of his new banner True Story Films.
The banner has been launched with an ambitious slate of $58 million and will produce both theatrical and OTT content ranging across genres and themes.
Mehta has entered into a strategic partnership with Sahil Saigal for the formation of this production house which has Vinod Bhanushali and Parag Sanghvi as its investors. While Mehta will be the creative head, Saigal, who has produced films like ‘Faraz’ and ‘The Buckingham Murders’, will look after the business operations.
The firm will start production in 2025 and the first release is slated for early 2026. It has been touted that emphasis will be given on not only working with known talents but also discovering fresh ones.
Hansal Mehta is a well known and acclaimed name in the entertainment industry who has made films like ‘Shahid’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘CityLights’, ‘Omerta’ and more. He has also been behind web series like ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘Scoop’.
