In the technologically advanced world of today, where the entirety of the globe has been made available at our fingertips, the only means through which similar things stand differentiated, is marketing. Moreover, half of anything pertaining to the film and entertainment industry today, depends on appropriate marketing and publicizing.
Which is to say, despite that fact, suitable measures have not been taken to promote ‘Bandaa Singh Choudhary’, an upcoming Hindi-language action drama starring Arshad Warsi and Meher Vij in the leading roles. The film, set in post-1971 India, follows a lone man’s pursuit for justice amidst a situation of social, economic, as well as political turmoil and volatility.
With only four days remaining for its theatrical release, which is slated for October 25, the film has barely managed to generate buzz online. The only times the film has even been talked about, is immediately following the release of its two trailers. Considering that the trailers debuted to largely positive reviews, the lackluster marketing campaigns are essentially setting it up for a dull run at the box office.
Additionally, despite the fact that the plot of the film may make for an intriguing watch, the lack of awareness amongst viewers, will lead to poor viewing numbers. Why is this trend of bland film publicizing becoming so common in Indian cinema? With a lack of options already omni-present in theatres, this is the last thing that they need.
