Singham Again is about to be released on 1st November expecting a huge boom. The trailer for the film was out yesterday and it received many good responses. While critics have found several flaws, and especially are ranting over the mythological angle the film uses, showcasing the characters in a parallel with the characters of Ramayan; the audience seems to have liked it a lot. Many people commented how excited they are to watch their favourite action heroes as the embodiment of characters of Ramayan.
Rohit Shetty, the director and writer of the film, did a great job in drawing a parallel between his film and Ramayan. The film is not a retelling, neither an adaptation of Ramayan; but a film which is a work of religious allegory. Allegorical films have a history of turning great hits in India which becomes another plus point for the film.
The film will be released on Friday, 1st November. On 29th October, Diwali, the festival that celebrates the homecoming of Ram will be celebrated, and two days later, Singham Again will be released. The trailer for the film too was released a few days prior to Dussehra, the festival celebrating the victory of Ram over Ravan. This proves to be a great strategy by the marketing team to ensure highest revenue for the film.
The film is an allegory to the Ramayana, and as the trailer shows, the film directly refers and hails the text in many places. This is certain to create a buzz in the minds of the audience which is evident from the responses on the trailer. Releasing the film at the time of Diwali (a festival related to the original legend), increases the amount of profit the film can gather. As the people will be inclined towards the legend due to the festive environment, they will favour watching a film that will remind them of it. Hence, Singham Again can expect maximum potential revenue in this festive season than it ever could have got.
