Time and time again, there comes a film that might not manage to become the biggest blockbuster of the year, or even gross hundreds of crores at the box office, but yet it somehow manages to leave a lasting impact on a large number of viewers.
Such is being seen with the case of Shoojit Sircar’s most recent family drama ‘I Want To Talk’. The Abhishek Bachchan led film follows a middle-aged man’s journey as he grapples with personal relationships, all while preparing for a potentially life altering surgery. Oh and also, he seems to be the single father of a teenage daughter.
Having released theatrically today, on November 22, the film, has managed to sit well with viewers as they found themselves to be at the receiving end of a movie that delivers the message of loneliness and the importance of family, quite well.
Moreover, the film has been termed a poignant yet bittersweet overall experience. Perhaps, the only aspect it fell short in is it’s lukewarm marketing, which largely limited it’s scope and potential. Which is also to say that ‘I Want To Talk’ is en route to becoming one of the many titles that will fall within the ‘it-deserved-better’ category post its OTT release.
This is what some of the audiences had to say about the film nevertheless:

A very good film, about loneliness and fighting terminal illness.
It will make you question your goals in life & yes the film is too sad but funny as well at the same time.
