There are reports doing rounds on the net that there are high chances Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ might get postponed. The film which is currently slated for release on 6th December might be rescheduled for early next year.
The reason being cited for the same is to avoid locking horns with Allu Arjun’s highly awaited ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, the sequel to blockbuster film ‘Pushpa’.
‘Chhaava’ is a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film revolves around the wars between the Marathas and the Mughal Empire during Aurangzeb’s reign.
Given the scale of ‘Chhaava’, the makers might try to go for a solo release to realise the full potential of the film and rightly so. It is an ambitious project and high hopes are pinned on this one. Despite strong chatter the official announcement on postponement is still awaited.
‘Chhapava’ is directed by Laxman Utekar and is his second collaboration with Vicky Kaushal after ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. Utekar is known for his films like ‘Luka Chuppi’, ‘Mimi’ and more. He has also served as the cinematographer for films like ‘English Vinglish’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and more.
‘Chhaava’ stars Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Neil Bhoopalam, and Santosh Juvekar among others. The film is written by Rishi Virmani and has music by A. R. Rahman. Dinesh Vijan has produced ‘Chhaava’ through his Maddock Films banner.
