Isha Talwar is about to make her debut in Odia film industry through a social film Durga. The film’s trailer was released a few days ago and it showcased Isha in a very prominent role. Her voice, though is being dubbed by another person, still presence on the screen looks very significant. The trailer hinted towards the release of the film scheduled very soon, but no official date was announced.
Finally, the official date for the film has been announced by the makers. The makers seek to grab the opportunity of no national releases in coming weeks to make the most from this film. Hence, the decided date for the release is scheduled to be 18th October, Friday.
The film has a huge cast with Isha Talwar, who has been a trending personality after the release of Mirzapur 3. Apart from her, talented actors like Poonam Mishra, Abhishek Giri, Raj Rajesh too are part of the film. As evident in the trailer, the actors have done a good job in their roles and suit the film’s interest.
The film discusses the theme of marital rapes and why it is something against which an action needs to be taken. The film delves deep into the issue through the use of courtroom drama as a plot device. The stereotypes against the existence of marital rape which are presented by society have also been explored. It seems that the film might recreate the effect Daman had caused to the Odia film industry.
The film, due to absence of national releases, has grabbed the opportunity of being released in national theatres like the PVR-INOX. This will favour the film to make an even better impact on the box office as currently no other Odia film is there to be screened by a national cinema chain.
The film is sure to receive a good reception from the audience. The introduction of Isha (a national sensation at this point of time) further increases the chance for the film to do better. And the lack of national films at least is making the film the sole dominator of the Odia regional cinema.
