Laapata Ladies is getting pumped up for its Oscar campaign. The movie was pushed by the Film Federation of India and not without controversies. The movie was a direct competition of All We Imagine As Light and the people were in favour of the latter.
The reason?
All We Imagine As Light is not produced by Aamir Khan who has all the capability to promote the film. So Aamir Khan is the producer of Laapata Ladies who is doing really well in the promotion of the film.
In a talk to Variety, Jyoti Deshpande revealed the strategies they are using for the Oscar campaign.
You see, merely having a good film is never enough to win Oscars. It needs brutal marketing that needs to be organized through screenings and PR machinery.
Rajamouli did a fantastic job in 2022 but Laapata Ladies needs to do far better.
Deshpande revealed that the Netflix numbers are a huge boost and it is a true statement. Laapata Ladies is a massive hit on Netflix and the credit goes to its content.
She also admitted using PR machinery that would work for the promotion of the film. The game is going strong, let’s hope that Laapata Ladies grabs an Oscar.
