The film industry has been quite shaky for the year 2024. With a couple of All-Time-Blockbusters, the year though has made its name in the lost of records, but still, most of the films released this year have been pretty average. The year is now coming to its summit and with the promises of some big films, the year is expected to have a good close.
The month of September ended with a blockbuster movie Devara Part 1. But the initial days of October will see no big releases. Until the release of Vettaiyan on 10th of October, the month can be called almost empty. Though we have a number of regional films lined up, they don’t have the calibre to make a nation-wide impact.
Amidst this, the regional language film industries are trying to grab the opportunity of this blank week by releasing more films to grab the audience of their regions. We have seen Bengali and Odia Industries doing it and now the Marathi film industry seems to be interested in it as well.
The Marathi industry has multiple films lined up in the PVR-INOX cinema chains for this week and the next. Also in this month, Marathi film industry is showing more presence in national cinema chains than ever this year.
The films, though are lacking in star appeal, still are able to convince the national cinema chains to screen their movies. Movies like Punah Ekda Chaurang and Ek Daav Bhutacha are now on the verge of releasing and making a presence among the local crowd.
The month, as it seems, will prove to be a crowd gatherer for local cinema. If the films turn out well, it may be possible for them to even survive in the typhoon of big giants that are upcoming soon as they will have already grabbed the audience’s nerve in this gap week.
