No Hindi Releases For Two Weeks After Diwali!

Diwali week is usually considered as a great time for new film releases along with New Year. The films released in these times often do a good business. So big releases at the end of the year are usually scheduled with these festivals. This year as well Diwali will see multiple big releases. Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are the Bollywood releases that will be released on the day.

Both Singham Again and BB 3 are highly anticipated films and have a big hype around them. They are sure to dominate the box-office all-over India at the time. But while these two films with a national dominion will be released, the Bollywood will again hibernate after these releases for more than two weeks. The films will be released on November 1st, and till 15th November no title will be released in Bollywood.

Lately, this has been a trend in Bollywood to release some popular projects and then a break of several days with no substantial releases. November will experience the same issue. October too faced this issue after the release of Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video. From 11th October there had been no releases in Bollywood, if the small productions are excluded.

This might be problematic for the industry in terms of engaging the audience. The lack of films makes the audience move towards either regional cinema or old releases. Many even look ahead towards OTT releases. Hence, the engagement of people with mainstream cinema lessens. This affects the overall financial closings of a year in the industry.

Bollywood should at least focus on aligning its releases in a way which can ensure a big release in every 10 days at least. Multiple releases on the same day can be avoided by releasing one of the films a week ahead ensuring more collection for both the films and audience being engaged.
