Payal Kapadia rose to global fame and made entire India proud with her debut fiction feature film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ which has had a magnificent festival run, winning multiple accolades including the prestigious Grand Prix award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
And now the talented filmmaker has teased of two more films that will be based out of Mumbai and which might possibly turn into a trilogy as well.
She stated in an interview to a renowned global publication recently that she has begun the writing work for her next movie which is also set in Bombay and while it’s still early she is thinking of doing two more films in the city of dreams in order “to have this kind of trilogy”.
‘All We Imagine As Light’ is a masterpiece and will definitely be remembered for long before it registers itself as an important part of India’s cinematic history. And if the following parts turn out to be as good, then we are definitely in for a cinematic treat.
Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine As Light’ might have felt ignored in it’s own hinterland but that did not dishearten her, for she has been uplifted by the recognition and praise poured from all corners around the world and her gem of a movie has ultimately triumphed and served the purpose of telling a heartfelt story as it was supposed to.
