Prabhas left no one unnoticed with his recent release in Kalki, and it looks like he wants to leave a huge mark with this one as Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is set to release internationally with Russia and Japan on the start of the list.
Early in 2025, the movie will be released in Japan by Twin, a distribution company run by seasoned businessman Kabata Keizo. Prior to its release in Japan, Twin presented S.S. Rajamouli’s “RRR,” which went on to become the highest grossing Indian film ever made.
In the upcoming months, a dubbed version of the movie is anticipated to be released in Russian theaters. The producers are currently considering their choices with regard to China, which has historically been a favorable environment for several Indian commercial productions.
Given the domestic budget as well as the business it did, Kalki is currently the highest grossing film of 2024. With all dices on the table, there are still some yet to be rolled by the makers and with the international tour of releases, the intention is clear.
Plans are in motion for a follow-up that will feature a titanic showdown between Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan’s characters. While the reviews for the film might have been varied, it has proved everyone wrong with the list of achievements and the overall domestic gross.
With Priyanka and Swapna Dutt in attendance, Kalki 2898 AD is also screening at the Busan International Film Festival. It remains to be seen how it will impact the Indian Film industry with its international releases and how much it will eventually add to its worldwide collection in the upcoming months.
