Prime Video’s Diwali Bonanza: ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ On The way

With Diwali around the corner Prime Video has brought some exciting news for its viewers. The immensely popular and successful series ‘Mirzapur’ is getting grander and will soon be available for entertainment on the big screen.

In an epic move, and for the first time ever, Prime Video has announced the launch of ‘Mirzapur: The Film’, taking the show to a bigger screen and modifying it into a motion picture.

The announcement video features Kaleem Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), the OG of ‘Mirzapur’ who talks about the importance of throne and how it brings along respect, power and control. Then swoons in Guddu (Ali Fazal) waving his gun and telling how the entire game has changed. He is followed by an unexpected surprise combo and that is Munna (Divyenndu) who is actually dead in the series but he walks in style saying he is the hero and is immortal; and compounder (Abhishek Banerjee) sharping his knife for next attack.

But the most important thing each of them is there to inform about is how people will have to leave their thrones at home and come to enjoy ‘Mirzapur’ in theatres.

Now that’s a pretty exciting news. While people are waiting for a new season, Prime Video and Excel Entertainment have something much bigger in mind and are taking it to the next level by expanding the series into a film. Moreover, there is no confirmation as to what will happen to the series and its further seasons, though the fans were left at a cliffhanger in the last season. Whether the film will take the story ahead or it will follow an entire different track is yet to be known.

Written by the creator of ‘Mirzapur’ Puneet Krishna, ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ is set to hit cinemas in 2026. It is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani.
