As the festive season of Navratri approaches, it promises to be a great time for both people and cinema. Families love to spend quality time together at the movies, and PVR certainly wouldn’t want to let such an occasion go to waste.
Given the recent trend of re-releases generating so much hype, PVR has shared a tweet regarding upcoming Dussehra re-releases, asking the audience to choose which movie should be brought back to the big screen. On one side, there’s Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela”, renowned for the electrifying chemistry between its lead pair. On the other hand, there’s Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic “Devdas”, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, celebrated for its unforgettable songs and remarkable performances.
Both SLB-directed tragedies are fantastic choices, but the decision has divided the audience. While “Ram-Leela” is set during Dussehra, making it a fitting choice for the festival, most of the audience in the comments section seem to be leaning toward “Devdas”. One reason for this could be the lasting impact of Shah Rukh Khan’s performance over the decades. Another reason might be that younger audiences never had the chance to experience “Devdas” on the big screen, as it was released more than 20 years ago.
Regardless of which film is re-released, theaters are sure to be packed, especially since there isn’t much major competition aside from Alia Bhatt’s “Jigra”. Let us know your thoughts!
