Sandeep Singh, a well known filmmaker, is all set to male his theatrical directorial debut with a historical drama starring ‘Kantara’ fame Rishabh Shetty. Titled as ‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, the film is a biographical drama based on the life of 17th century Indian ruler Shivaji Bhonsle.
‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ is touted to be a magnum opus action drama that is a “battle cry to honor a warrior who fought against all odds, challenged the might of the Mighty Mughal empire, and forged a legacy that can never be forgotten.”
Set for release on 21st January 2027, ‘The Pride of Bharat’ will join National Award winning actor Rishabh Shetty’s upcoming lineup that includes ‘Kantara 2’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’ scheduled for 2025 and 2026 respectively.
As for Sandeep Singh, he is known for producing several acclaimed films like ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘Jhund’, ‘Mai Atal Hoon’ and more. He made his directorial debut with Zee5’s ‘Safed’.
Chatrapati Shivaji, has been the centre of multiple films and shows across the years so it will be interesting to see what new perspective Sandeep Singh offers. ‘The Pride of Bharat’ will have on board international technical talent and will use advanced visual effects.
