Shah Rukh Khan is all set for his next project, a film named King, directed and written by Sujoy Ghosh. The highlighting point about the film is that the actor’s daughter Suhana Khan will also be seen in the film. Suhana made her debut in Bollywood through the 2023 Zoya Akhtar film Archies. The film didn’t go well and she was brutally criticized and trolled for her bad acting in the film. She will be looking forward to her redemption through this film.
Reportedly, in the film Shah Rukh Khan will play the role of a professional assassin who ends up protecting a girl (played by Suhana Khan) whose entire family has been killed.
Prior to even the announcement of the film’s release, the film now faces controversy pertaining to its plot. Reportedly the film is a remake of French actor Jean Reno starrer Leon: The Professional (1994). The film was directed by Luc Besson. In the French film, Reno has no choice but to look after her whole family is killed. Though Suhana will not be playing the character of a 12-year-old girl, she is being protected by SRK (a hitman) i.e., the basic plot of the film remains the same.
Though these are currently just allegations on the film, which may or may not be true. The French work might be just an inspiration for the makers of King; or the work might be adapting some elements from it. Or the film might not be an adaptation at all. All of it will be clarified once the trailer for the film is released. Until then, one can’t straightaway blame the makers for having made a remake.
