Considering the chaos that cinemas have been engulfed in recently with respect to re-releases and building off of fan bases, the National Cinema Day has come as a respite. With tickets available for as low as Rs. 99, nearly all theatres across the country have witnessed staggering footfalls.
Tickets for titles like ‘Tumbbad’, ‘Stree 2’, ‘Yudhra’, ‘Transformers One’, and more were sold at very cheap prices for the third time, following the tradition that was initially celebrated in 2022 to commemorate the re-opening of cinemas post the COVI-19 lockdown.
That considered, ‘Stree 2’ continues to withstand fierce competition and emerge victorious as it reigns at the box-office yet again. With an additional Rs. 4.75 Crore added to its impressive collections throughout the course of National Cinema Day, the film is yet again moving towards the Rs. 600 Crore mark.
This means that the title is only short of that milestone by Rs. 6 Crore! Apart from this, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘Yudhra’, which opened on the National Cinema Day itself garnered nearly Rs. 5 Crore on its opening day. However, whether the film has really impressed audiences or not, will come to light in the upcoming days.
Vijay’s ‘The G.O.A.T’ also amassed roughly around Rs 2.42 Crore, during NCD. Moreover, amid ‘Stree 2’s success, the Sohum Shah starrer ‘Tumbbad’, surpassed its 2018 collection by minting a total of Rs 13.44 Crore!
