Inspired by the 2008 Documentary Supermen of Malegaon, the film presents a charming and jovial examination of the aspirations of a tiny town, highlighting the distinctive and lively filmmaking culture of Malegaon.
The narrative centers on a group of enthusiastic amateur filmmakers who want to make parodies that embody their little town’s spirit of community, resiliency, and the transforming potential of movies.
The movie debuted on September 13, 2024, in the Toronto International Film Festival’s Gala section. It opened to great reviews from the critics and after having a showdown at Toronto, the film reached London to brace its impact even more.
The highly acclaimed movie was the main attraction of the esteemed 68th BFI London Film Festival. The film just had a resoundingly enthusiastic reception from a packed house in London, following its triumphant world premiere at TIFF. The movie was presented on October 10 at the Vue West End as part of the BFI London Film Festival.
The film’s amazing team, which included Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Adarsh Gourav, as well as a plethora of foreign celebrities, critics, and movie buffs, graced the carpet showing in London.
