The OG Manjulika Turns Into A Meme Material In The Third Film

Vidya Balan is a phenomenal actor who has been known for her challenging character portrayals in many films. One of the films in which she played a timeless role was Bhool Bhulaiyya. In the 2007 film that was an adapted work of Manichitrathazhu, Vidya played the role of Manjulika (the main antagonist). The role was very well appreciated by audiences as well as critics.

A sequel for the film was made in 2022 by Anees Bazmee with a different cast and plot. The film was a good hit at the box office, and now after two years the third film of the franchise is about to be released.

As the trailer of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was launched, Vidya Balan appeared in the film playing the role of Manjulika, which she had done in the OG film. But this time her character received a lot of backlash and criticism instead of praise and appreciation.

Vidya had been amazing in the first film, but in the trailer for the third part, she appears to be overacting her role. Her dialogue delivery, expressions, body language everything seems far off what she had done previously. People are calling her a cringe element in the film and that her overacting ruins the character of Manjulika.

People even have started sharing memes relating to the bad performance of Vidya in the trailer. People had been used to seeing Vidya as Manjulika in the first film (which she had done beautifully). And now, with her bad performance, the frustration of people multiplies considering her previous performance.

Many people have brutally criticised Vidya who despite being a good actress failed to enact a character which she had already done so beautifully before. Some are even commenting that this might be the director’s fault where Priyadarshan gave us an amazing Manjulika whereas Anees Bazmee created cringe with the same actress.

People were looking forward to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, because of the nostalgia associated with Vidya. But all their aspirations seem to have been butchered by the franchise. The frustration of people will surely be reflected in the film’s box office collection as well.
