Cinema screens have been high and dry recently, to say the least. Leave for the few good releases scattered here and there, there is virtually nothing drawing audiences to theatres constantly. Not during the festive season, and not otherwise as well.
Such was the case with October, primarily. However, the first week of November brings about a potential box-office battle between the highly awaited Hindi-language titles: ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ and ‘Singham Again’, both of which are debuting on November 1. Apart from this, there have been no options for Hindi speaking audiences to turn to, even during this upcoming week.
Now, taking this into account, in addition to the widespread positive response that Netflix’s upcoming thriller drama ‘Do Patti’ has garnered, could releasing it theatrically have been a better option? Not only have the trailer as well as the songs been well-received for the most part, viewers seem to have gone crazy about the cast on various social media platforms!
‘Do Patti’ could’ve even avoided the BO clash in November by releasing a week prior, i.e October 25, the same date it is premiering on Netflix. Numerous fans are waiting with bated breath for the Bollywood debut of renowned TV actor Shaheer Sheikh, and this would’ve driven big numbers to theatres as well!
