‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ was gaining a lot of criticism after the trailer dropped. People were recalling the first instalment by Priyadarshan starring Akshay Kumar and calling this latest part cringe. But defying all odds ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has emerged victorious at the box office.
When ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ was announced there was an initial rejoice as the franchise is a beloved one but at that time too there were apprehensions from certain quarters. Then too the film did wonders and it was even more celebratory because the industry was still recovering post pandemic.
It wasn’t going to be easy for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ as well given the massive face off with Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer cop action drama ‘Singham Again’. But to everyone’s joy both the films did good and the decision to come on Diwali together was not as bad as thought.
Coming back to ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ which has once again done great business it calls the question, is it the film’s story that worked or is it Kartik Aaryan’s star power that created magic? Moreover, what does the film’s achievement tells us?
While the film’s climax is well written and has been praised by the audience, Kartik Aaryan is undeniably a very major factor for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s’ success. Though some people came from viewpoint that he was trying to embody Akshay Kumar in his character as Rooh Baba, but he definitely has carved his own unique niche that has worked for him and the film.
Moreover, the makers did not budge and kept their marketing game on point. From interviews, public appearances, song launches, media events and everything else needed was done.
Kartik Aaryan may be a big reason for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s success but the efforts of the whole team behind the film needs to be appreciated as it’s never for one man to make it all work.
