The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will feature a selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films in the Indian Panorama, a premier section of the festival. From a wide selection of 384 current Indian feature films, the 25 feature film bundle, which includes 5 major films, was selected.
The jury has selected Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, directed by Randeep Hooda, as the opening film for Indian Panorama 2024. Randeep Hooda will open with his highly acclaimed film at the film gala, which will take place in Panaji, Goa, from November 20 to 28.
Kerebete (Kannada), Onko Ki Kothin (Bengali), Karken (Garo), Article 370 (Hindi), Srikanth (Hindi), Aadujeevitham (Malayalam), Raavsaaheb (Marathi), Jigarthanda Double X (Tamil), and 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu (Telugu) are also included in the lineup of feature films, which were chosen from 384 entries.
In addition, the five popular titles are Kalki 2898 AD (Telugu), Manjummel Boys (Malayalam), Swargarath (Assamese), Karkhanu (Gujarati), and 12th Fail (Hindi). Talking about Randeep Hooda’s show starrer, Hooda co-wrote and produced Swatantrya Veer Savarkar which was theatrically released in March earlier this year. Savarkar’s early years and significant life events are depicted in great detail in the film.
Indian Panorama was introduced to shed some light on some of the most innovative and captivating films produced in the Indian Film Industry. The Indian Panorama has been focused on presenting the top Indian films each year since its founding. The chosen films for the Indian Panorama section will also be shown in international film festivals in India and elsewhere for non-profit screenings to promote film art.
