Sometimes, there is not a lot of time left in life, at all. And when one is faced with this life-altering scarcity, their sole motive in life becomes to apologize to those they’ve wronged. Whether this is so they’re remembered fondly, or purely out of the long-hidden kindness within their hearts, is a topic still up for debate.
Prolific Indian filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, is back with yet another film based upon the aforementioned theme. ‘I Want To Talk’, a Hindi-language film slated for a November 22 release follows a father and daughter duo as they navigate their routine lives, until an unexpected medical diagnosis completely changes their lives.
The general plotline of the film is highly comparable to Sircar’s critically lauded ‘Piku’, which went on to win several accolades, in addition to viewers’ hearts. Apart from ‘Piku’, it is observable from Sircar’s studded slate that his films often navigate the direct consequences of fatal ailments on the lives of those close to the affected.
While one must guess that this commonality would throw audiences off, it has quite the opposite effect! Not only did audiences approve of ‘Piku’, 2018’s ‘October’ was also widely appreciated for its poignant cinematography.
Which just goes on to prove that if there is one thing keeping audiences from getting bored of repetitive storylines, it is good writing and originality!
