Would ‘Naam’ Have Been More Successful On OTT Instead?

The film and entertainment industry is no stranger to rapidly evolving and changing trends. What’s ‘it’ one day, could very well be forgotten the next. Surprisingly enough, even the opposite holds true. You can never guess what might just become the new ‘it’ thing.

Despite that, one thing that has been unanimously agreed upon, albeit non-verbally, is that new releases that mimic 2000s cinematography, are just not ‘it’ anymore. Take the case of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming thriller ‘Naam’. Sure, the film doesn’t mimic the cinematography of that period because it is technically a decade long delayed project, but that still does not seem to please audiences.

Moreover, many have been quick to express their distaste with the films’ theatrical release in the first place. So much so that they wish that the film were bound for OTT instead. However, currently, a majority of the films follow the 4-week-window rule, before they debut on OTT.

Considering the fact that ‘Naam’ doesn’t quite seem to be heading towards a grand success at the box-office, it is highly probable that it will find itself a place on an OTT platform. The question that arises in that context is this: would the film be able to do well, even on OTT?

While this is something that would be made clear only a few weeks from now, the answer doesn’t appear to be all that positive either!
