After Dip, Panchayat Season 4 Makes a Grand Comeback in Week 2

Panchayat Season 4 might have started on a quieter note, but in just two weeks, it’s proven that the charm of Phulera is far from fading.

The fourth season opened to 8.8 million views in its debut week on Prime Video, which was lower than what many expected, especially after the massive buzz around Season 3. In fact, the opening was nearly 29% below the third season’s Week 1 numbers. But instead of sinking further, the show held its ground.

In Week 2, Panchayat pulled in another 7.8 million views. That means it now has a total of 16.6 million views in just two weeks, crossing the entire lifetime viewership of popular shows like Gullak Season 4 and even Jitendra Kumar’s own Kota Factory Season 3. This kind of bounce-back is impressive and kind of expected. Because when it comes to Panchayat, the show has never relied on hype but on goodwill, character love, and storytelling that grows on you.

And now, even with the slight Week 2 dip, it’s still sitting comfortably at the top of the charts as the most-watched streaming original in India last week.

The upcoming fifth season has already been confirmed, and judging by how Season 4 is performing, the audience isn’t going anywhere. In fact, Panchayat might just be inching toward the elite list of the top 10 most-watched non-Netflix shows in the post-COVID era.

Looks like Sachiv Ji’s popularity is outrunning even his CAT score now.
