Anil Kapoor’s Iconic ‘24’ Streams Again on OTT

Anil Kapoor’s Jai Singh Rathore and the high-stakes world of the Anti-Terrorist Unit are back. After years of waiting, one of the best Indian shows has returned, this time on JioHotstar. The official Indian adaptation of the hit global series 24 has begun its digital journey, and the first wave of adrenaline is now available for streaming.

Starting today, April 24, 2026, JioHotstar has released the first seven episodes of Season 1. This re-release brings back the intense, real-time storytelling that changed the landscape of Indian thrillers back in 2013.

For those unfamiliar with the format, every episode represents one hour in the life of Jai Singh Rathore as he races against the clock to save the country from a massive terrorist threat while simultaneously trying to protect his family.

24 was considered a massive departure from the typical daily soaps in the history of Indian television. Benefiting immensely from gritty realism, a fast-paced narrative, and cinematic production values, the series was received very positively by viewers.

The series follows Jai Singh Rathore’s mission to stop an assassination attempt on the prime ministerial candidate, Aditya Singhania (played by Neil Bhoopalam).

Watching these episodes again, especially in high definition on OTT, is a treat for both old fans and a new generation of viewers who missed the original broadcast.

While many OTT platforms prefer to “binge-drop” entire seasons, JioHotstar is opting for a staggered release to maintain suspense. The platform has confirmed that episodes will be released in batches every Friday.

This strategy mimics the original high-pressure viewing experience, giving audiences just enough content to stay hooked while leaving them anticipating the next move in Rathore’s 24-hour nightmare.

Anil Kapoor has often cited 24 as one of the most physically and mentally demanding projects of his career. His portrayal of a flawed yet relentless hero set a new benchmark for leading men in the action-thriller genre. Backed by a stellar cast including Tisca Chopra, Mandira Bedi, and Anita Raj, the show remains as relevant and gripping today as it was a decade ago. Stream the first seven episodes on JioHotstar.
