Netflix India is doing wonders in terms of grabbing content. In 2023, two Indian films won an Oscar each. They were The Elephant Whisperers and RRR and Netflix India had rights over both of them.
Even last year “To Kill A Tiger” was nominated in Oscars and Netflix India got hold of it.
Talking about this year Laapata Ladies became popular due to Netflix India’s good strategy.
Now there is another Indian film that is eyeing Oscar nominations on the 23rd. It is a film called Anuja and recently Priyanka Chopra Jonas onboarded the film as an executive producer.
Immediately after her onboard, Netflix India announced that they would be streaming Anuja soon on their platform. It makes sense as Netflix India has all the capability to make the film reach audiences not only overseas but also in India.
If the film really gets nominated in the Oscars and then Netflix India releases it soon then it is going to be bonkers. A lot of people are swarm around the film and it would hugely benefit the platform.
