Having had an underwhelming performance in theatres, Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah’s ‘Ulajh’ is now streaming on Netflix. Surprisingly, Netflix didn’t make any announcement for the same and neither did the makers.
Did they not have any hopes from ‘Ulajh’ or was it too embarrassing to promote its OTT debut? Also, It’s very unlikely of Netflix to not announce the digital premiere of a film, and let alone before hand, they did not care enough to notify the viewers even after it started streaming on the platform.
Moreover, when you search a film or web series on Google, it generally shows where it is streaming in India but for ‘Ulajh’ that’s not the case. Now, that’s pretty astonishing! (Even Google isn’t updated about it for now.)
‘Ulajh’ did bomb at the box office but such step motherly treatment seems a bit unjustified. There have been many a films doing terrible both commercially and critically yet they do deserve, if not a grand promotion, a simple post on social media to let people know about the digital premiere.
If you look at pre theatrical release promotions of ‘Ulajh’ it was done pretty well but unfortunately the film could not impress moviegoers or critics. Looks like makers have no hopes left from the film and therefore did not bother revealing anything about its OTT release to anyone.
