The Roshans came to Netflix India on the 17th of January. The documentary is about the three generations of the Roshan family who have been a part of the film industry since the late 1940s. The documentary aggregated a lot of popular stars and gave it a lot of buzz until its release. When the documentary was released then it was not received with a lot of love.
Why?
The Roshans played it too safe. They never gave the spice that a documentary needs.
Try to remember the time when Netflix India used to come up with good documentaries. We mean stuff like “The Hunt For Veerappan”, “Curry and Cyanide” and more. They were appreciated by the people because they got a shock factor.
What possible shock could people get from something like “The Roshans?”
Nothing.
That is the reason it was not received with a lot of warmth. The documentary was the fourth most-watched series in India and it is bad. It is even lower than “XO, Kitty Season 2” which is not buzzy in India. The series which is about Hrithik Roshan deserved much more views than what it received.
So, people did not bother to watch “The Roshans.” We hope that Netflix India is listening.
