Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Sweet Dreams’: Too Dreamy To Be Real

Disney+ Hotstar has unveiled the trialer for its next direct to digital release ‘Sweet Dreams’ and this one feels too dramatic and far from reality. Helmed by Victor Mukherjee, ‘Sweet Dreams’ will premiere only on Disney+ Hotstar on 24th January, 2025.

‘Sweet Dreams’ trailer shows Kenny (Amol Parashar) and Dia (Mithila Palkar), both having the same dream every night for the past seven days that ends at the same moment every time.

Perplexed by it, they both are on a lookout for each other completely unaware of whom to look for and where. Trying to find answers with help from friends and other sources, they don’t even know whether this dream person they are chasing is the one for them or not.

‘Sweet Dreams’ takes the person of your dream thing too literally and to such an extent that it feels over fictionalised and storybook type. The characters seem depressed with their lives with no idea of what they want and while this part might resonate with a lot of urban youth, nothing else feels to connect.

Overall, ‘Sweet Dreams’ trailer does not create any excitement and apparently gives away a lot with nothing much to look forward to in the film.

Written and directed by Victor Mukherjee, ‘Sweet Dreams’ stars Mithila Palkar, Amol Parashar, Meiyang Chang, Sauraseni Maitra, Mohini Shimpi, Sukkarann Vats, and Ayesha Adlakha with Faye DSouza in a special appearance.

‘Sweet Dreams’ is produced Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios and Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya for Mango People Media and will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 24th January, 2025.
