We always say that writers should be paid more in films. But if they keep messing up scripts then it is very natural for producers to not give them the monetory respect that they otherwise deserve. The case of Do Patti is different as it is produced by Kanika Dhillon who also happens to be the writer of the film.
She is talented and she can write good dialogues. But the success of Hasseen Dillruba and the fame it brought never really allowed her to write a good film again. Take the case of Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, the movie is essentially all the components of the first part, just with more absurd and less relatable characters.
The case with Do Patti is very similar. The movie does not look believable at all. It is not a pulp fiction and you are supposed to buy the thrill, but the predictable nature of the movie is something that turns you off.
There are many comments online that are criticizing the script and calling out the problems in it. This problem is almost persistent with all the major recent works of Netflix India. Be it Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar or Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper, the scripts need a revamp.
It feels like Netflix rushes to shoot when they should have perfected the script instead
