Prime Video Trolled for HD Marketing Blunder

Prime Video is once again at the receiving end of fan frustration, this time for a poorly thought-out marketing post. The platform recently shared screenshots from Thalapathy Vijay films. But what caught everyone’s eye?

The images looked anything but HD.

(Quite ironical)

Grainy, blurred, and lacking clarity, the screenshots were instantly called out by fans on social media. Many mocked the irony, how can a platform promote high-definition content using visuals that don’t even meet basic quality standards?

This small slip comes at a time when Prime Video is already under scrutiny. Its recent move to add advertisements, even for paying subscribers, has not gone down well. Viewers have also complained about issues like subtitle mismatches, poor print quality, and inconsistent playback experiences.

The trolling around the Vijay post wasn’t just about one mistake, it was a reaction to a string of disappointments. Fans pointed out how even pirated versions of the same films often looked sharper than what Prime officially offers.

It’s surprising because Prime was once praised for its strong catalogue of regional content, particularly in Tamil and Malayalam. But moments like this make it seem like the platform has stopped caring about quality.

A bad marketing move won’t do much damage but, in terms of what they are doing right now, Prime needs to level up their game.
