Prime Video has unveiled the trailer of the much awaited season two of it’s acclaimed original series ‘Bandish Bandits’ and this time the emotionally charged show will move back and forth between protecting the legacy and fulfilling one’s own ambitions. Helmed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bandish Bandits’ Season 2 will premiere only in Prime Video on 13th December, 2024.
Season 1 ended with Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) winning the title of Sangeet Samrat and Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry) embarking on a journeys to become a better artist. Season 2 promises to take forward their emotionally intense story.
With Panditji (Naseeruddin Shah) passing away Rathod family is soon embroiled in controversy resulting in their Gharana being cut off from Sangeet Samrat. Determined to bring back the glory, Radhe decides to take his grandfather’s music to worldwide audience with India Band Competition.
On the other hand, Shreya is on a journey to unlearn and learn at a prestigious music school like a student and not a famous pop star. She is given the opportunity to represent her school in the same competition and what follows is marked by passion and conflict while the lead actors try to preserve their family’s legacy and navigate their individual ambitions.
The trailer looks enthralling and once again very well blends Hindustani classical and contemporary western music. The show also explores themes like male dominance overshadowing a female’s contribution even in a creative field like music.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bandish Bandits’ season 2 will have Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, and Kunaal Roy Kapur returning to reprise their roles alongside new cast members Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, Yashaswini Dayama, Aaliyah Qureshi, and Saurabh Nayyar in pivotal roles.
Produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra, ‘Bandish Bandits’ is a Leo Media Collective Private Limited production and will launch globally on Prime Video on 13th December, 2024.
