Rangeen on Prime Video: Adult Comedy Too Late to the Party?

Prime Video’s new series Rangeen is all set to release soon, but no one is excited about it. In fact, the show’s promotion started just five days ago, which is way too late. With so many new shows coming every week, you can’t expect people to care if you show up at the last minute. Maybe if they had promoted it earlier, it could have caught teens’ interest at least. But now, it already feels like a missed opportunity.

The trailer for Rangeen is out, but sadly, it’s nothing special. It looks average from start to finish. There’s no fun, no intensity, and definitely nothing that makes you want to watch it. The story centres on a bereaved husband who wants to step into the field of male prostitution. He is innocent and naive at first, but when he finds out that his wife is having a relationship with a sex worker then he steps into the same field.

Many people in the comments section pointed out that it looks like a copy of Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper, the Netflix series that dealt with somewhat similar themes and actually gained some decent popularity and controversy. It’s not a great sign when your new show is already being called a rip-off.

What’s worse is that Prime Video doesn’t seem to be making any real effort to change the situation. There’s barely any marketing, no special campaigns, and it almost feels like even the platform knows the show isn’t going to make a big splash. If things continue like this, Rangeen might just become yet another show to come and go without anyone really noticing. It’s a shame, but in the world of streaming, if you don’t show up with something fresh or exciting, people just scroll past.
