But let’s talk about the new era. So, in the new era, Netflix would be streaming the episodes. Yes.
Earlier, WWE used to have its own platform, but due to some reasons, they decided to shift entirely to Netflix. This is a huge, huge win for the platform, as it would drive immense traffic to them.
But, in various parts of the world, including India, Netflix still hasn’t gotten the streaming rights. Just to give you more clarity, SonyLIV will continue to stream WWE Raw episodes until their license expires, and then Netflix India will finally take it forward.
But as of now, SonyLIV is the only platform where Indians can watch WWE RAW.
So what happened?
SonyLIV cut the episode, and the references to Netflix are erased. Yes, there is no mention of Netflix in the entire episode and it is a good thing for SonyLIV. Otherwise, seeing the condition of Nayanthara, ahm, ahm, no more words.
Of course people pointed it out; of course it was very obvious, and the trick didn’t really convince people. However, it looks like SonyLIV has saved themselves from legal trouble + free promotion to Netflix.
