The Kerala Story 2 Set for OTT Release

Following its mediocre theatrical run earlier this year, the sequel to one of India’s most polarised and controversial movies is now heading to digital screens. The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is set to premiere on ZEE5.

The movie will soon complete its ten weeks of its theatrical run. It arrived in cinemas on February 27.

Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the sequel features a new lead cast including Aishwarya Ojha, Ulka Gupta, and Aditi Bhatia.

The narrative continues to explore heavy themes, focusing on the stories of three young women and the personal challenges they face. While the first film was a major box office sensation, this second instalment received a more muted response from viewers, earning around ₹48 crore during its time in theatres.

The film’s journey to the small screen hasn’t been without its share of hurdles. Similar to its predecessor, The Kerala Story 2 faced legal scrutiny and a temporary stay from the Kerala High Court before eventually being cleared for release.

Now that the theatrical window has closed, the creators are looking to reach a wider audience through the convenience of streaming.

For those who missed it in theatres or want to revisit the story from home, the wait is almost over. Mark your calendars for May 8, when The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond joins the ZEE5 library, allowing viewers across the country to watch the latest chapter. Stay tuned for more updates.
