The focus of Netflix India has tilted in terms of documentaries. Why are we saying this?
Just look at the slate they are having since 2024.
We do not get real grounded harrowing tales like Curry and Cyandine, The Hunt For Veerappan, etc. We are getting celebrity focused documentaries like that on SS Rajamouli, Indrani Mukerjea, Honey Singh, Nayanthara and now the Roshan family.
It may be new to the newer generation but the Roshan family has been existing in the Hindi film industry for a long long time now. Roshan, who happened to be the grandfather of Hrithik Roshan. He was a highly influential and powerful composer who gave melodies to many many blockbusters in the 1950s and the 1960s.
Then came Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan. Rakesh Roshan started as an actor and later switched to direction. Rajesh Roshan carried his father’s legacy and became an even more powerful composer in the 80s and the 90s.
Then came the most recognisable and powerful person in the family, Hrithik Roshan. Widely considered the last superstar of Bollywood, he debuted 25 years ago. It is easily the biggest debut of any actor ever in Bollywood.
It is also his birthday tomorrow so it is a kind of treat for his fans now.
And now there have been 25 years since that debut. The Roshans celebrate the family and spill some beans about them. It is to be released on the 17th of January. Watch out for the review with us.
