Toaster on Netflix: Rajkummar Rao’s Dark Comedy Locks OTT Date

After a long wait, we finally have the release date for Toaster, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa’s first movie under their own banner, Kampa Film. Led by Rao himself, this dark comedy also stars talents such as Abhishek Banerjee, Sanya Malhotra, Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Vinod Rawat, Farah Khan, Seema Pahwa, and Jitendra Joshi.

Toaster is officially hitting Netflix on April 15, 2026.

The story centres around, you guessed it, a toaster. It’s a simple wedding gift that gets exchanged, then forgotten, and then… well, things get weird.

When the wedding gets called off right after the gift exchange, someone decides they aren’t ready to let that toaster go. What follows is a ridiculous chain of events and absolute mayhem. It’s a classic case of a tiny mistake spiralling into a massive, hilarious disaster.

Rajkummar Rao is returning to his comedy roots. Alongside him, we see Sanya Malhotra.

Toaster isn’t just another movie for the leading man. This is his first-ever production, which makes the film deeply personal for him as well.

Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary, the film promises to be an unpredictable ride. In a world of intense dramas and gritty thrillers, a “zabar-toast” dark comedy about a kitchen appliance might be exactly what we need to lighten the mood.

Mark your calendars! April 15 is the date you’re looking for. Stay tuned for more updates.
