Prime Video must be sad right now. The platform known for its great and massey content made some terrible choices in licensing films and it has impacted the way the platform is behaving. Moreover, it is giving an edge to its competitors who are slightly better in sensing what can be a great deal.
Why are we saying so?
Take the case of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film is a tsunami at the box office and it is breaking records not just left, right and centre but also up and down in every direction.
What happened to Pushpa? The first part is successfully streaming on Prime Video and it was a huge success back when it was released.
But, the second part was a miss. The second part, although an even bigger blockbuster will not stream on Prime Video.
Netflix India has grabbed the opportunity and it will stream there itself.
Yes, it is a huge loss. We are pretty sure that Prime Video India could very well afford it, but why the didn’t is unknown to us.
Second reason for Prime Video to be sad is Kanguva. Prime Video had big plans for Kanguva. They were to release it in Pongal 2025 and it was possible only if it would become a big hit.
Unfortunately, it became a major flop. The reviews were a nightmare and the audience is also not showing any interest whatsoever.
Well, let’s see how Bandish Bandits come out to be.
