John Abraham’s latest film Vedaa, released back on August 15th along with Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein will be premiering on OTT tomorrow. The film will be available to watch in Zee5 in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages.
Vedaa released on 15th August with an opening collection of 6 crores. But soon the Stree 2 fever outshone all the films of the time and Vedaa too turned out as a flop. It could only generate a collection of 30 crores on the box office compared to its 60 crores budget. Now it will hope for a better reception on the OTT platform. Being released in multiple languages will make the chances for the film’s success better.
The film stars John Abraham along with Sharvari Wagh. Sharvari plays the titular role in the film who is aided by John (an ex-military officer) to overcome the issues of caste discrimination she faces in her hometown. Abhishek Banerjee plays the role of the main antagonist in the film. His role is that of the head of the village belonging to upper-caste who tortures the people from lower castes. The film mixes the issues of caste, women upliftment and action to create an entertaining combination.
The movie could not get proper attention when it was released in the theatres. Due to Stree 2 dominating the entire box office, it got very little attention. But now with its release in Zee5, the film is expected to receive a good viewership and attract a lot more people than it did in the theatres.
