Sometimes, love stories don’t begin with violins, slow-motion, or destiny. Sometimes, they begin with a matrimonial setup… and that’s exactly where Netflix’s upcoming series Musafir Cafe begins.
Starring Vikrant Massey and Mahima Makwana, the show is adapted from Divya Prakash Dubey’s popular novel of the same name. It’s not a sugary romance, it’s about two people trying to figure out their lives, their identities, and maybe, each other.
Makwana plays Sudha, a divorce lawyer who doesn’t believe in marriage. She’s independent, stubborn in her views, and fiercely protective of her freedom. Massey plays Chandar, a software engineer who secretly wants to be a writer. He’s thoughtful, introverted, and searching for meaning.
A matrimonial setup brings them together.
An unconventional living arrangement keeps them there.
But the heart of Musafir Cafe isn’t about falling in love, it’s about discovering who you are when someone challenges everything you believe in.
What makes this exciting is the pairing. Vikrant Massey thrives in roles that demand emotional depth, while Mahima Makwana brings a grounded intensity. Seeing them explore a relationship that isn’t fairy-tale perfect, but raw, practical, and modern, could be the refreshing change we need from predictable love stories.
Now, we don’t have a release date as of now but Netflix will make it very clear when we can watch the upcoming series.
