Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Films Ventures Into Unscripted Content

Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti are two talent powerhouses who have given films and shows like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Gold’ ‘Made In Heaven’, ‘Dahaad’, and more.

Now their jointly owned production house Tiger Baby Films is venturing into unscripted content with a diverse slate that aims to inspire and tell stories from India to the global stage.

First up there is ‘Turtle Walker’, directed by Taira Malaney. Set to have its world premiere at DOC NYC next month, the documentary has won the prestigious Grand Teton Award at the Jackson Wild Media Awards.

‘Turtle Walker’ tells the story of the incredible Satish Bhaskar, who walked nearly every inch of India’s coastline to discover the nesting beaches of sea turtles so that they could be protected.

Next up is ‘In Transit’, a Tiger Baby documentary series in collaboration with Prime Video that explores the lives of trans and non-binary individuals navigating love, identity, and the boundaries of gender in a unique Indian way. It is directed by Ayesha Sood and will have nine episodes.

Before all this, Tiger Baby Films’ first unscripted content was Prime Video’s ‘Angry Young Men’ that launched earlier this year and captured the professional and personal journeys of iconic writer duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
