The holiday season holds quite an array of different meanings throughout the world. While in a country like India it could either mean the time around different festivals or summer holidays for kids, in many countries abroad, it usually signifies the time around Christmas.
Moreover, Christmas also holds more significance than just being a religious day of commemoration. It also marks yet another time of happiness and cheer all around, which is probably why a whole lot of people seem to enjoy it. The same reason is also probably why ‘christmas movie’s have always held a special place in the hearts of those who grew up watching movies.
That being said, Indian audiences have a Christmas-themed film upcoming, albeit a little too soon. Slated to release theatrically on November 22, fam-com ‘Christmas Eve In Miller’s Point’ follows a family as they gather together to celebrate what could prove to be their last dinner together.
While the pretence of the film makes it fit perfectly into the category of a ‘christmas movie’, it’s release date might just have an impact on how well it reaches Indian audiences. Even those who appreciate such films, especially younger audiences, will not quite be intrigued to visit theatres so much earlier than when the Christmas-cheer can actually be felt all around!
