If the world today is built off of anything, it is mostly money and lies. Now, keeping this in mind, picture this: a world outside the human bounds of lying. A world where lying hasn’t been invented yet. A world that works solely on truth. Interesting, right?
Well, someone thought about this and found the idea quite intuitive, too. So much so, that they decided to make an entire feature film about it! A 2009 romantic comedy film ‘The Invention of Lying’ follows Mark Bellison, a so-called loser, who’s recently been laid off, as he invents the art of lying, only due to a small technical glitch at the bank.
When everybody starts believing his lies, he quickly uses it to his advantage and ends up garnering himself love, fame and success with this newfound power. The title stars Ricky Garvais, Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, and more in leading roles.
