‘A Real Pain’ New Trailer Shows Jesse Eisenberg & Kieran Culkin As Cousins

Searchlight has dropped a new trailer for Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin’s A Real Pain. The duo plays cousins, David and Benji Kaplan, respectively, who decide to reunite for a tour to Poland to honour and pay their respects to their late grandmother, who was a holocaust survivor. The trip slowly turns into a nightmare after their old tensions resurface, resulting due to their controversial family history.

The trailer opens with David and Benji meeting at the airport and joining a tour group upon arriving in Poland, with David handling the arrangements. As they travel with the group and uncover more about their grandmother’s past, the story delves into their complicated relationship and how each of them is coping with their grief over her loss.

Apart from Eisenberg and Culkin, the film features Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy, Daniel Oresekes, and Ellora Torchia.

Eisenberg helmed A Real Pain. He also wrote and co-produced the film with Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone. The Kinds of Kindness fame co-produced the movie via her Fruit Tree production banner.

The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It received a strong positive response from critics, who especially praised Culkin’s performance. Currently, it stands with a ‘fresh’ critic score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 55 certified reviews.

A Real Pain will come out in theatres on November 1. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the trailer!
